Directly Current Episode 12: Batteries, America, and Asian Dominance with Doron Myersdorf, StoreDot CEO

This week, to follow up Thanksgiving break and during lame duck season in the US, Max speaks to an expert across the pond to learn all about high-end battery production. Doron Myersdorf is the CEO of Israeli battery startup StoreDot, who promises to make an EV battery capable of charging 100 miles in just 5 minutes.

Beyond the flashy state of the art tech, the two talk competitive affordable battery chemistries like LFP that are dominating in China, as well as how the US and a new Trump administration may be more aligned with even enemies in Asia, like China. Doron believes the US could learn a lot, and gain, from partnering with the winners of battery production today for the energy transition tomorrow. As Doron sees it, the US already lost and needs to start picking up pieces now to make up for lost time.
